The youth winners of the Maui County Council’s 2020 Imi Pono Challenge will speak at a Maui Chamber of Commerce event via Zoom from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The challenge asked intermediate and high school students to create new ideas to help improve Maui County in the future. Wyatt van der Lee, a sixth grader at Iao Intermediate who placed first in the middle school category, will also appear along with second-place winner Xavier Katsuda, also a sixth grader at Iao.

The Maui Chamber of Commerce will announce other programs to assist the winners as well as the participants of the Imi Pono Challenge.
